Alex Otti Foundation Scholarship for Nigerian Students 2024

Alex Otti Foundation (AOF) is seeking applications for its 2023/2024 undergraduate scholarship scheme, aimed at disadvantaged students in Abia. The Foundation expects scholarship recipients to form a network of leaders who contribute to the well-being of Abia State and Nigeria.

  • The scholarship will include the expenses for tuition and living costs for chosen candidates in universities, polytechnics, and other higher institutions throughout the country. 

Requirements for Alex Otti Foundation Scholarship Program

WHO CAN APPLY?

  • Applicants must be 2nd-year students in Nigerian government-owned tertiary institutions. Admitted into the 2021/2022 academic session, excluding schools that lost one year of academic session.
  • The candidate must achieve a minimum CGPA of 3.5 in their first academic session at universities or tertiary institutions.
  • Candidates who have recently gotten direct entry admission into their second year. And will still be in the second year by the end of April 2024 are eligible to apply.

WHO SHOULD NOT APPLY?

  • Siblings of current Alex Otti scholars are not eligible until their sibling’s scholarship is completed, while siblings of Alex Otti graduates are eligible.

OTHER REQUIREMENTS

  • Candidates must submit a First-Year academic session statement signed by the Department/Faculty’s Admin Officer. And qualifying results for direct entry, available during final interviews.
  • Candidates must provide a letter of recognition from their community/religious group leader. Or an electricity bill from the last three months before the interview to prove their Abia State residency.
  • Candidates must submit a 1200-word essay, broken into three (3) parts telling us. (a) What they are most grateful for, and why. (b) What would they say is their greatest regret in life Or the worst decision they have ever taken; and if faced with a similar situation, what would they do differently? And (c) What is the most important decision they have taken in life and the justification for it?
  • Candidates must provide valid means of identification.

  • The scholarship is for people who live in Abia State. Whether their families have always been there or they moved from somewhere else. As long as you currently live in Abia State, you can apply for the scholarship even if you go to school in another part of Nigeria.
  • students whose families cannot genuinely afford the cost of a college education. Those who can afford a college education should consider staying away from this scholarship as a way of giving back to society.
  • Due to the volume of entries received in every edition, only candidates who passed the first screening will be contacted.
