JAMB Registrar, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, Justifies Hiring 300 Staff Amidst Controversy

In a recent appearance before the House of Representatives, Professor Is-haq Oloyede, the Registrar of the Joint Admissions and Matriculations Board (JAMB), defended the commission’s decision to hire 300 new staff members without publicly advertising the positions. The move was made to address vacancies resulting from retirements within the organization.

The House of Representatives ad-hoc committee, currently investigating employment racketeering by Ministries, Departments, and Agencies, as well as mismanagement of the Integrated Payroll and Personnel Information System (IPPIS), raised concerns about the hiring process.

Additionally, the committee discovered that 14 individuals at the Federal Character Commission (FCC) were receiving salaries through IPPIS, despite not being assigned to any federal government agencies.
